Co-chaired by Mr Bob Chong, Chair of the Hong Kong Section, and Mr Choi Myung-Bae, Chair of the Korea section, the 17th Hong Kong/Korea Business Round-table was held on 15 March 2016 and attended by 16 Korean and 15 Hong Kong participants. Mr Kim In-Ho, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, also joined the meeting and spoke at the opening session.
Members exchanged views actively on topics, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, collaboration of entertainment and lifestyle industries, and green technology trade. The meeting was followed by a luncheon, where Prof the Hon K C Chan, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, delivered a keynote speech. Overall, members of two sides showed keen interest on exploring collaboration opportunities. The bilateral cooperation between Hong Kong and Korea will continue to be strengthened, especially under the myriad opportunities bought by the Belt and Road Initiative.
Apart from joining the meeting, the Korean participants took the opportunity to attend the FILMART 2016, Asia's Largest Entertainment Market. The Korean delegation also visited Hengqin, Zhuhai to explore investment opportunities in the Hengqin Free Trade Zone. |
