Hong Kong-Korea strengthen bilateral business cooperation

Mr Bob Chong, Chair of the Hong Kong Section, delivered a welcome remark at the 19th Hong Kong/Korea Business Roundtable Meeting.
Co-chaired by Mr Bob Chong, Chair of the Hong Kong Section, and Mr Choi Myung-Bae, Chair of the Korea section, the 19th Hong Kong/Korea Business Round-table was held on 20 June 2023 and attended by 19 Korean and 17 Hong Kong participants. Mr Christopher Koo, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, also joined the meeting and spoke at the opening session.

Members exchanged views actively on topics, such as green technology, new energy, health technology and biotechnology, and food technology sector. The meeting was followed by a luncheon, where the Hon Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the Government of the HKSAR, delivered a keynote speech. Overall, members of two sides appreciated the opportunity to sustain bilateral exchange, and found the meeting informative and inspiring, paving way for further in-depth discussions and potential collaborations.

Apart from joining the meeting, the Korean participants took the opportunity to visit Hong Kong Science and Technology Park and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as well as tech-related companies and institutes, with briefings on Hong Kong's latest I&T ecosystem and support for start-ups.
