The 14th Korea/Hong Kong Business Round Table was successfully held in Seoul, Korea on 7-9 July. It was co-chaired by Mr. Christopher Cheng, Chairman of Wing Tai Properties Limited and Dr. Oh Young Ho, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association. The 16 people strong Hong Kong delegation comprised very senior business representatives from financial services, green technology and infrastructure, as well as creative sector.

The achievements of this year’s Round Table were concrete and considerable, with many useful exchanges between the two sides. In addition, through the courtesy calls on the Minister of Strategy and Finance and the Vice Minister for Trade and Energy, our delegates could exchange views with the Korean government officials and have acquired a better understanding on latest economic developments and initiatives in Korea.

Aside from the corporate visit to Samsung headquarters, the HKTDC organised a networking dinner with very senior Korean business leaders to facilitate high level business dialogue. The event was joined by heads of some Korean chaebols and leading Korean financial institutions including the CJ Group, Tong Yang Group, Korea Federation of Banks, Samsung Securities, etc.
