overview

Initiated by the Consul-General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong in 1993, the Hong Kong - Korea Business Round Table is a joint effort of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Korea International Trade Association to promote closer relations between the business communities of South Korea and Hong Kong.

The first meeting was held in Hong Kong in December of 1993. Since then the business round table has been held regularly, either in Hong Kong or in Korea. These meetings aim to foster high level economic co-operation and to provide a forum for corporate leaders and industry experts from Hong Kong and Korea to identify and explore opportunities for business partnership, joint ventures and strategic alliances through interactive exchange.

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council acts as the Secretariat for the Hong Kong Delegation to the Round Table while the Korea International Trade Association is the Secretariat for the Korean Delegation. The two delegations are formed each time for the Round Table occasion on an ad hoc basis in accordance with the corresponding agenda.
