Co-chaired by Mr John Slosar, Chairman, John Swire & Sons (HK) Ltd and Mr Ihssane Mounir, Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the 26th Plenary Session of the Hong Kong-United States Business Council was concluded with success in Washington, DC on 23 Jan 2018.
Attended by 9 Hong Kong prominent business leaders and 14 US members including leading representatives from Boeing, Citi, FedEx, United Airlines and Cigna, there were insightful dialogues on the Trump administration’s Asia trade policy, China’s national strategies to promote regional economic integration arising from the Belt and Road Initiative and Greater Bay Area, as well as China’s reform agenda under President Xi’s second term.
The programme included a cocktail reception hosted by HKSAR Economic and Trade Office, meeting with Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and retail market visit to Washington Walmart Supercenter “Pickup Today”.
