In addition to ongoing programmes, the major initiatives TDC will introduce in 2003/04 include:

Develop the Chinese mainland as Hong Kong's domestic market
Promote the PRD and Hong Kong jointly as the preferred manufacturing base and manufacturing services centre of the region:

-
Enhance the international profile of the Hong Kong-PRD region with marketing collaterals, practical reference materials, promotional briefings and coordinated media coverage;
- Conduct proactive outreach through overseas roadshows, visits to the PRD, and business-matching missions;
- Liaise closely with official and business communities in the PRD and Hong Kong to facilitate information exchange and concerted promotion;
Develop the flagship Style Hong Kong fair in Beijing, with other smaller events in other major mainland cities to promote Hong Kong as a trendsetter in lifestyle products and services;

Style Hong Kong, launched by TDC in Beijing in March 2003, showcases latest Hong Kong fashion to mainland buyers and distributors.
Launch a new magazine in Spring 2003 to promote Hong Kong lifestyle products and services;
Mount retail promotions and branded-product events at leading department stores and shopping malls in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang, Qingdao, Wuhan, Chongqing and Changsha;
Expand and upgrade Hong Kong Pavilions at key mainland trade fairs, such as CeBIT Asia, National Electronics Fair, China Food, and the International Toy, Baby & Gift Fair;
Organise missions for networking and business-matching in primary and secondary retail and distribution centres in the mainland;
Build an annual anchor exhibition/conference in Guangzhou to promote Hong Kong's logistics industry to PRD companies;
Market the capabilities and strengths of Hong Kong service industries through industry-specific marketing brochures, multimedia promotions, directories, tdctrade.com sections, and promotional stands;
Connect Hong Kong service providers to potential mainland clients through in-depth, sector-specific business-matching activities;
Organise business-matching seminars, workshops, and missions in targeted markets in North America, Western Europe, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea to promote Hong Kong SMEs as partners for business in mainland markets;
Organise seminars and business missions to the mainland to identify 2008 Beijing Olympics opportunities in infrastructure, licensing, professional services, project financing, information and communications technology, and marketing services;
