International I&T hub to be built in Northern Metropolis, enhancing Hong Kong-Shenzhen integrated development
|
|
|
Northern Hong Kong will be built into a 300-square-kilometre metropolis positioned as an international innovation and technology (I&T) hub. The Northern Metropolis will see the development of the San Tin Technopole. This, together with the Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Zone, will form the Shenzhen-Hong Kong I&T Co-operation Zone, combining the strengths of both Hong Kong and Shenzhen to pool local and non-local talents, enhancing the integrated development of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Guangdong unveils free trade zone blueprint under Five-year Plan
|
|
|
|
The Guangdong provincial government has announced plans to develop the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone into a high-quality international connection hub supporting Mainland China’s opening-up. The hub will deepen financial cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and supports Hong Kong- and Macao-based private equity funds in participating in financing innovation enterprises in the zone. Additionally, it encourages innovation enterprises to seek financing or initial public offerings in Hong Kong and Macao.

"Industrial Map of Guangzhou City" released, revealing focus on strategic new sectors
|
|
|
|
More than 90 square kilometres of land will be available for industrial development in Guangzhou in the next three to five years. Strategic new sectors will take the largest share, accounting for about half of the city’s total. These industries include new-generation information technology, new-energy vehicles and smart connected vehicles, and biomedicine.

Guangdong resumes processing applications for Hong Kong business trips
|
|
|
|
On 11 October, Guangdong resumed processing, on a trial basis, endorsement applications by Mainland Chinese for making business trips to Hong Kong. Successful applicants shall travel to the city under the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s “Come2hk” scheme. Travellers who meet specified criteria will be exempted from compulsory quarantine requirements upon arrival in Hong Kong.

Mainland China's 14th Five-year Plan is committed to promoting research and innovation and green growth, with the "dual circulation" development paradigm at the heart of the country's economic strategy. Innovative Hong Kong draws crowds
|

Held in Guangzhou by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee on 24-26 September, the Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo attracted more than 700,000 online and offline visits. The HKTDC joined this expo with a Hong Kong Pavilion showcasing more than 10 Hong Kong companies, promoting the city’s advantages in the fields of professional services such as finance, logistics, and design.
