Strategies and major new initatives

Nurture and engage start-ups and young entrepreneurs to go global

Introduce a new “Start-up Clinic” in Entrepreneur Day with a series of one-on-one consultation sessions for industry experts and start-up mentors to “diagnose” the different problems and pitfalls start-ups are facing

Position the start-up zones as a complete ecosystem for the start-up community and invite participation from vendors and facilitators providing services to start-ups to complement the pitching, mentoring and media components

Foster “cross-sector” business co-operation and matching, and introduce a business matching event to help Hong Kong companies find potential technology and innovation partners at SmartBiz Expo

Engage young entrepreneurs and start-ups from the creative sector to participate in a year-round programme to gain exposure and explore business opportunities in the mainland and ASEAN

Develop a Start-up Portal and build an online community featuring star mentors

Start a “Belt and Road” workshop series featuring relevant experts to share their on-the-ground experience

Launch “Startup-Plus”, a new economical participation option, for start-ups with more than three years’ experience

Introduce business expert advice through the Trade Ambassador Programme Facebook for young people to seek advice on business and entrepreneurship

Expand our collaborative partner network to include corporate training institutes (such as Hong Kong Management Association) and sector-specific institutes (such as Design Institute) to organise customised exchange and learning opportunities for young people

Help build connections between young people from Hong Kong and Belt and Road countries by organising exchange workshops for visiting students with their local counterparts and professionals from the relevant discipline of studies
