Maersk Logistics is new integrated company for SeaLand Logistics and Mercantile

Following the merger of SeaLand and Maersk into Maersk SeaLand, SeaLand Logistics (formerly Buyers Consolidators) and Mercantile (part of the AP Moller Group) are integrating into the company Maersk Logistics. All integration of services, physical locations and activities of the two companies are scheduled to be completed March 31. Soren Brandt is the global managing director.

Maersk Logistics will have a global reach of more than 160 dedicated offices in more than 55 countries with a staff of about 3,000, delivering value-added solutions and logistics cost-savings to clients in a number of different industries. This is achieved through the development and support of customised One-Stop-Shopping concepts of total supply chain management from factory to store. Maersk Logistics supports this concept by offering services in SCM, warehousing, distribution, forwarding, groupage and airfreight.

The integration process has been structured with the aim of combining best practices from the SeaLand Logistics and Mercantile, resulting in the strengthening of the product, geographical coverage and IT platform.

"By bringing together the skills and experience of the logistics professionals from both organisations, the ability to execute solutions for clients will be further strengthened," said Brandt.

Maersk Logistics is a subsidiary of the AP Moller Group that has offices in 325 cities in some 100 countries. For information, visit http://www.maersk-logistics.com.
