Leaded Jewelry Regulations Withdrawn
The Department of Public
Health of Massachusetts has announced to withdraw the "Ban
on Leaded Toy Jewelry Regulations" which was approved
earlier in March, 2008, following the signing of the Consumer
Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 by President Bush.
With this new Act in place,
the Federal government will set stricter limits for lead content
in children's jewelry and other children's products. The Massachusetts
Regulations 105 CMR 650 amendments are thereby repealed and
replaced by the new Federal Public Law 110-314.
