19 September 2023 – The 16th Plenary Session of the Hong Kong - France Business Council was held in Paris on 19 September 2023. Co-chaired by Mr William Doo, BBS, JP, Chairman of Fungseng Prosperity Holdings and Mr Jean Lemierre, Chairman of the Board of BNP Paribas, the Plenary Session had insightful discussion on Hong Kong-France collaborations in the areas of Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) developments, smart city development and healthcare ecosystem. HKSAR Financial Secretary Mr Paul Chan, French Consul General to Hong Kong and Macau Ms Christile Drulhe, HKTDC Chairman Dr Peter Lam and Executive Director Ms Margaret Fong attended the meeting together with 11 Hong Kong members and 11 French members. Members from both sides acknowledged the valuable chance to reconnect in person after the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. They found the presentations informative which set the stage for more extensive discussions on future collaboration.
