| "As one of the
world's four major printing centres, Hong Kong is a perfect setting for
the printing and packaging fair," says Mr Benjamin Chau, Assistant
Executive Director of the TDC. |

| "The Chinese mainland's
rising middle class provides a large market for auto parts and the automobile
manufacturing industry. I am very optimistic about the Hong Kong industry,"
says Professor KB Chan, Chairman of the Hong Kong Electronic Industries

April 3, 2007 - More than 330 exhibitors, a new fair record, are expected
to attend the Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair later this month
at AsiaWorld-Expo, with exhibitors coming from seven countries and regions.
The Hong Kong International Auto Parts Fair, which runs concurrently with the
printing and packaging fair, expects more than 260 exhibitors from 14 countries
and regions and has expanded to two exhibition halls in response to market demands.
The twin Hong Kong fairs open April 28 and continue until May 1.
"The two fairs received overwhelming response when they debuted last year,
attracting more than 13,000 global buyers and over 550 exhibitors," said
Mr Benjamin Chau, Assistant Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development
Council (TDC). "The proportion of exhibitors to buyers is close to that
of TDC's established trade fairs, proving that the fairs are a significant marketing
platform for suppliers and buyers alike."
The Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair spotlights four new
themed zones this year: the Integrated Pre-press Service Square, the Sign and
Display Pavilion, the Digital Printing and Office Automation Equipment Pavilion,
and the Used Machinery Square, which showcases used printing and packaging machinery
to encourage environmental awareness.
Major products on display at the printing and packaging fair include packaging
materials and accessories, pre-press services, graphic arts and design services,
multimedia technology and services, printing and packaging services, consultancy
and training services, and printing and packaging equipment and systems.
Seminars on issues ranging from environmentally friendly printing and digital
printing to green manufacturing in the printing and packaging industries will
also be featured.
Hong Kong is a particularly appropriate setting for the printing and packaging
fair, given that it is one of the world's four major printing centres, along
with Germany, Japan and the United States. Hong Kong's printing and packaging
exports totalled about US$5.5 billion in 2006, up seven per cent over the previous
year.
The fair is organised by the TDC in conjunction with the CIEC Exhibition Company
(HK) Ltd, and co-organised by the Hong Kong Printers Association and the Graphic
Arts Association of Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong International Auto Parts Fair this year has attracted group pavilions
hosted by Taiwan, as well as three major auto centres in the Chinese mainland
- Fujian, Zhejiang and Changchun. The fair will feature a wide array of auto
products and services, including auto and motorcycle parts and components, accessories
and specialty equipment, repair and automotive services, and machinery, equipment
and tools.
Techno Zone, presenting the latest technological development projects, returns
this year. It will be joined by two new areas, the Accessories and Specialty
Equipment Zone, created to feature performance, racing and customization products,
and the Motorcycle Zone.
The 2007 International Conference for the Asia-Pacific Automotive Industry,
a two-day event covering a variety of industry topics, will take place during
the fair period.
The Hong Kong International Auto Parts Fair is jointly organised by the TDC,
the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association Ltd, and Paper Communication
Exhibition Services, and co-organised by the Hong Kong Auto Parts Industry Association
and the Society of Automotive Engineers - Hong Kong Section.
