Hong Kong's trade fair portfolio has added two popular names from now on. Over
13,000 buyers from around the world have visited the debut Hong Kong International
Auto Parts Fair and Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair which
concluded today (April 11).
Organiser of the two specialised shows - Hong Kong Trade Development Council's
(TDC) Assistant Executive Director Benjamin Chau said the new shows' ratio of
buyers to exhibitors was comparable to TDC's most successful trade fairs.
The twin shows attracted over 550 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions.
In view of the overwhelming response from exhibitors and buyers, TDC plans
to expand the shows in 2007.
According to exhibitors, buyers were very interested in digital printing equipment
and technology, as well as packaging service that have strong design elements.
President of Japan Automotive Products Association Noritada Ito said the four
Japanese car makers in Guangdong planned to expand their production from the
current 700,000 vehicles to over 1.2 million vehicles in 2010.
"The expansion in production will trigger the demand for auto parts in
the region. The auto parts show will become a much needed platform for car makers
and their first-tier suppliers in the region to source quality auto parts,"
said Mr. Ito.
The Hong Kong International Auto Parts Fair is organised by the TDC in conjunction
with its strategic partners, Paper Communication Exhibition Services and Hong
Kong Electronic Industries Association Ltd; and co-organised with Hong Kong
Auto Parts Industry Association, and Society of Automotive Engineers - Hong
Kong Section.
The Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair is organised by the
TDC and CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited, and co-organised with the Hong
