Sure Success Industrial Ltd offers a comprehensive range of modern office stationery

The modern office demands an up-to-date approach to everything from paper clips to file folders, and one Hong Kong manufacturer is cashing in with a comprehensive range of quality items.

"Our star products are PVC binders and PP flats," says Sure Success Industrial Ltd Marketing Assistant Mango Wu. "Other popular items include ring binders, lever arch files, PP forms, box files and ring mechanism folders of all types."

A key sales point is that all products comply fully with international standards. "This is important these days, especially to our major clients in North America, Europe and Asia," Ms Wu says. "Our lines generate annual revenues of more than US$8m, and we take great care to ensure consistent quality and fresh designs."

Noting that success did not come overnight, and that the company met and overcame many difficulties in its early stages of development, Ms Wu relates that the firm started out cooperating with an export agency to help develop its business overseas.

International demand

"We were grateful for the exposure and the experience we gained in dealing with international demands, but we eventually reached a point where it became clear that we could do even more by dealing direct with buyers," says Ms Wu.

"To achieve this, we started attending relevant trade fairs on the Chinese mainland and in Hong Kong, and it quickly became evident that there existed a huge demand for quality stationery products," she adds. "As a result, a high-profile US stationery brand soon expressed strong interest and started negotiating with us."

This opening, however, also led to a lot of new demands being placed onto the rather young shoulders of Sure Success: the new client, a major US presence, set very high standards.

"This led to a long period of actively seeking out the best raw materials, getting the designs right, making sure the production process could operate smoothly and continuously," Ms Wu recalls. "Eventually, we reached the stage where the prospective client was satisfied with our efforts and business commenced. Happily, that client remains our major outlet to this day."

Experience gained

The experience gained from meeting the stringent requirements of that client was also put to good use elsewhere. "We gained in confidence and realised that we could easily hold our own against any competitors in world markets," Ms Wu insists. "As a result, we were soon able to gain more business and more new clients on a global basis."

Good design is second only to quality assurance. "Actually, the two go hand in hand," claims Ms Wu. "The better the product, the more attention you pay to its production, from start to finish."

Durability is also a key element in the design factor, as is environmental care. "Today, almost every client will enquire about some aspect of environmental care, which reflects the state of the market worldwide," Ms Wu says. "The materials we use are carefully selected to meet these needs and we are happy to fully inform clients."

She further assures that Sure Success spares no effort when it comes to sourcing and utilising new materials and incorporating them into new designs to provoke the market with original and eye-catching products.

Fine quality

"We have quickly earned a reputation for innovation, and for being flexible enough to meet even the most demanding requirements," Ms Wu says. "At all times we seek to provide fine quality products that are supported by helpful and customer-considerate services."

This guiding business philosophy is further entrenched in the tenets of honesty and industriousness. "While being enterprising and innovative in the constant development of new products are our main manufacturing aims, we regard the success of customers as our own success, especially when the products they buy bear the Sure Success brand," Ms Wu states.

With such an attitude, it seems certain that Sure Success will continue to win friends and business from all corners of the world.
