The
Hong Kong-UK Business Partnership
The Hong Kong-UK Business Partnership interlinks the services
of UK Trade & Investment and the Hong Kong Trade Development
Council (HKTDC), offering practical assistance to UK and Hong
Kong companies seeking opportunities both in each other's markets
and, through Hong Kong, in the Chinese mainland.
The Partnership, led by representatives of
the Hong Kong and UK business communities, will work to identify
sector-specific business opportunities, through shared information,
services and activities.
This initiative stems from discussions in
early 2004 between the Rt. Hon Patricia Hewitt MP, UK Secretary
of State for Trade & Industry, and HKTDC Chairman, Peter
Woo. Its inaugural meeting was held in London on 26 October
2004.
The partnership continues to gather momentum as we work together on a variety of projects, most notably a highly successful Carbon Trading Seminar in July. Other examples include HKTDC giving strong assistance to the Consulate in helping British business on missions to Hong Kong get the most out of their visits with successful specific targeted business matching discussions. |
