EXPLORING CO-PRODUCTION OPPORTUNITIES AT TIFFCOM!
In the upcoming TIFFCOM (the film market in Tokyo on 24-26 October 2011), Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will organise a networking cocktail reception in the afternoon of 24 October 2011. The cocktail reception will be opened to all industry players who are interested in exploring co-production between Hong Kong and Japan. HONG KONG DAY IN AFM 2011
The American Film Market 2011 (AFM) in Los Angeles will be held on 2 - 9 November, 2011. There will be a strong presence of Hong Kong films at the event. Once again, HKTDC will launch the Hong Kong Day promotional activities in AFM on 3 November 2011.
The highlights of Hong Kong Day activities include a ribbon-cutting opening ceremony in the morning, the HKTDC Seminar titled "Hong Kong: Asia's Co-production Centre and Gateway to the China Market" in the afternoon, followed by a Hong Kong Reception to be held at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel. Also, a promotion booth will be set up at the AFM fairground (5th Floor Atrium 10, Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel) to promote Hong Kong film industry to the attending international buyers.
HONG KONG FILM WEEK IN LONDON
"Hong Kong Film Week", as one of the main activities at the "Think Asia, Think HK" campaign, was successfully organised in London on 12-16 September. With the presence of Chief Executive of HKSAR, the Chairman of HKTDC, the Prince Michael of Kent, actress Maggie Cheung and director Alan Mak, the promotion was formally kicked off at the "Artistic Hong Kong" reception at Kensington Palace, London, on 12 September.
The film week promotion featured 5 remarkable Hong Kong films, namely Overheard 2, Ip Man, Echoes of the Rainbow, Love in a Puff and The Beast Stalker which attracted more than 700 guests in total and generated over 30 media coverage.

HAF IS ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FROM 22 August to 11 November 2011
The Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) is recognized as one of the most important film financing platforms in Asia with many projects successfully completed and exhibited. We continue to expand the possibilities for filmmakers to promote their projects. HAF 2012 will take place from 19 to 21 March, 2012 in Hong Kong and is now open for submissions in three categories for cash awards.
HAF 2012 Project Entry
Around 25 to 30 projects are selected annually to participate in HAF. One Producer and one Director will be invited to Hong Kong to present their projects during the three-day event. From 2012, HAF is also accepting non-fiction and documentary projects. Up to HK$350,000 in cash awards will be made.
FOX Chinese Film Development Award
The FOX Chinese Film Development Award aims to support Chinese-language films with an offer of a "First-Look Deal" from FOX International Productions. Five Finalists will be invited to HAF to present their projects in person to the Finalists' Panel. The winner will receive a prize of HK$100,000. Other Finalists may also be offered a "First-Look Deal".
HAF Script Development Fund
The HAF Script Development Fund is set up to support young filmmakers from Chinese-speaking territories. The selected winning script will receive an award of HK$100,000.
