HONG KONG PAVILION AT MARCHÉ DU FILM 2011
Six Hong Kong companies exhibited in the Hong Kong Pavilion, organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), at Riviera during Marche du Film, an important international film market held concurrently with the 64th edition of Festival de Cannes, from 11-20 May 2011.
In the Pavilion, All Rights Entertainment Ltd, Edko Films Ltd, Fortune Star Entertainment (HK) Ltd, Mega-Vision Pictures Ltd, Stars Union Skykee International Media Ltd and Universe Films Distribution Co Ltd showcased their latest film projects. Other 11 Hong Kong companies also exhibited outside the Pavilion on promoting their project in the market. They were Celestial Pictures, Distribution Workshops, Easternlight Films, Emperor Motion Pictures, Filmko Entertainment Ltd, Fortissimo Films, Golden Network Asia Ltd, Media Asia Group, Mei Ah Entertainment Group Ltd, Pegasus Motion Pictures Distribution Ltd and We Distribution.
Once again, Hong Kong had its own business support centre at the International Village, and the networking session of "Dim Sum Hour" continued to be well received by the market participants. Such value-adding business exchange opportunities and networking experience among Hong Kong and International industry players were highly rated and appreciated.
FIMLART 2011'S RECORD-BREAKING SUCCESS
Celebrated its 15th anniversary, the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) this year set new attendance records, with nearly 600 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions and more than 5,000 visitors from 54 countries and regions.
Being Asia's major entertainment industry market and one of the leading events of its kind in the world, FILMART 2011 has once again completed in applauses and cheers after a 4-day market of enchanting exhibitions and over 60 special events including HAF and the Asian Film Awards. Thanks to all exhibitors and visitors who have made this year's FILMART another record-breaking success!
The next edition of FILMART is scheduled to be held from 19-22 March 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Please stay tuned for latest news on our website
LET'S PREPARE FOR THE 10th HAF!
This year, the HAF has continued to be proven as Asia's most effective project market in film financing with the total number registered guests at 1,046 from 39 regions/countries, a 17% increase from last year. Hong Kong, China, Japan, South Korea and United States are the top countries with the most number of representatives at HAF. A total of 610 private business meetings and individual media interviews were organised between financiers, media and filmmakers of the 28 selected film projects. It is of 12% increase over the past year with approximately 20 meetings per project over the 3-day events.
