HAF SEMINAR AS A WINDOW TO CHINA MARKET

In view of the strong interest shown by global filmmakers in exploring business opportunities in China, the 8th Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) and its co-organizer MPIA will co-present with CineAsia 2009 a special seminar titled "A New Dimension to China".

In the seminar, various industry experts will share the new touch of the latest development of the digitalization and 3D technology of the China market. They will also provide the most up-to-date market analysis in film-financing, marketing and distribution of this fast growing market. Besides, legal consultants will be there to answer questions and offer legal tips. The details of the seminar are as follows:

PROMOTION CAMPAIGN FOR HONG KONG CINEMA A HUGE SUCCESS AT AFM

The promotion campaign for Hong Kong films launched by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) at American Film Market (AFM) was a huge success.

In addition to the promotional booth at the fairground, HKTDC also organised a seminar for top-notch industry professionals to share their insights and a networking cocktail for industry players to explore business opportunities.

Over 100 industry professionals from around the world were attracted by the seminar titled "Hong Kong: Your Ideal Co-production Partner and Gateway to the China Market", which was held on 6 November and moderated by Mr. Michael Goodridge, Editor of Screen International. Honoured speakers included: Mr Jeffrey Chan, CEO of Distribution Workshop and COO of Bona International Film Group, who talked about why Hong Kong is the ideal partner for world class co-production in Asia; Mr. C K Phoon, Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Imagi International Holdings Ltd., who shared his insights on "The Global Perspectives and Strategies of Collaborating with Hong Kong".

AFMOver 300 international guests attended the cocktail reception; the exciting atmosphere was highlighted by a toasting ceremony with VIP guests including: Mr. Louis Ho (Regional Director of Americas, HKTDC), Mr. Jeffrey Chan (CEO of Distribution Workshop and COO of Bona International Film Group), Ms. Terry Lai (Founding Chairman of KadoKawa Intercontinental Group Holdings Ltd.), Mr. Albert Lee (CEO of Emperor Motion Pictures), Ms Nansun Shi (Executive Director of Film Workshop Co Ltd.), Ms. Winnie Tsang (Managing Director of Golden Scene Company Limited), Mr. Jonathan Wolf (CEO of American Film Market), and Ms. Carrie Wong (Managing Director of Golden Network Asia Ltd).
