TDC would like to congratulate renowned Hong Kong actor Andy Lau, who has been named the Asian Filmmaker of the Year by the Pusan International Film Festival. Mr. Lau, a veteran Hong Kong entertainer, is to be recognized for his commitment to promoting Asian cinema and supporting independent Asian filmmaking. As early as 1991, he set up TeamWork Motion Pictures that invested in Fruit Chan¡¦s Made in Hong Kong in 1997. Mr. Lau later established Focus Films to support independent filmmakers and launched ¡§Focus First Cuts¡¨ last year, which featured China¡¦s box office smash hit Crazy Stone. Focus Films¡¦ distribution of independent films such as ¡§Joni¡¦s Promise¡¨ and ¡§Before We Fall in Love Again¡¨ are also noted by Pusan. (Click here to read full interview)
