COUNTDOWN TO ENTERTAINMENT EXPO HONG KONG 2015

The 11th Entertainment Expo Hong Kong will be held on 23 March – 19 April 2015. It will again be a global mix of film, TV, digital entertainment and music events, attracting the very best of international film stars, directors and industry professionals to Hong Kong while showcasing the leading lights of the Hong Kong entertainment industry to the world.

This year’s Entertainment Expo will encompass 10 leading entertainment events, including the 3 founding events: Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) and Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony; 6 core events: Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), Hong Kong Asian-Pop Music Festival (HKAMF), IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award, ifva, The 8th Asian VFX and Digital Cinema Summit and Digital Entertainment Summit; 1 affiliated event: TV World International Forum.


HONG KONG PRESENCE AT EUROPEAN FILM MARKET 2015

Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) set up a promotional booth first time at MGB at the European Film Market 2015 (EFM), running from 5-13 February, highlighting the latest Hong Kong films.

Moreover, 3 Hong Kong companies exhibited at EFM on promoting their exciting projects and 5 market screenings were held at EFM this year.


Hong Kong Filmmakers Show Young Talents at the 13th HAF

Proud of the continued success in providing filmmakers with invaluable experience of networking, developing their projects through wide-ranging meetings and exchange of ideas, the 13th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum features projects of a mix of strong up-and-coming young talents and renowned filmmaking veterans. This year’s HAF project list includes Hong Kong young filmmakers:

  • Nominated for Best New Director in the 2015 Hong Kong Film Awards and Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Ruby YANG will co-produce Stephen Gurie WOO’s documentary The Last Stitch.
  • After his award-nominated Doomsday Party (HAF 2013), HO Hong returns to the HAF this year with the suspense drama Lost in Border.
  • Coming to the HAF for the first time, Gilitte LEUNG follows her hit indie drama Love Me Not with inspirational sports drama Breathing.
  • Hong Kong Film Awards nominated scriptwriter LUK Yee-sum makes her feature film directorial debut with youth drama Lazy Hazy Crazy, produced by Subi LIANG, producer of the Hong Kong Film Awards 2015 nominated Best Film Aberdeen.

The 13th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) will be held from 23 to 25 March, 2015 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Film financiers, investors and participants can register and schedule appointments with all film projects at www.haf.org.hk/guestregistration. The deadline for guest registration will be on 18 March, 2015.
