HONG KONG PAVILION AT MARCHÉ DU FILM 2014

Leading Hong Kong filmmakers has featured their latest cinematic projects at Marché du Film, which opened from 14 to 25 May as part of the concurrent 67th Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival). |
This year’s Hong Kong Pavilion included six Hong Kong exhibitors organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), as well as another four companies organised by the Hong Kong Motion Picture Association (MPIA), which secured funding from CreateHK and support from the Movie Producers & Distributors Association of Hong Kong. The 10 Hong Kong companies showcased their latest productions, discussed co-production projects, financing and marketing with buyers from all over the world.
The Hong Kong Pavilion at the trade event’s Riviera section featured exhibits by All Rights Entertainment Ltd., Edko Films Ltd., Entertaining Power Co., Ltd., Fortune Star Media Limited, Gold Harbour Int'l Film Ltd., Mega-Vision Project Workshop Limited, New Smart International Creation Limited, Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment Co., Ltd., Universe Films Distribution Co., Ltd. and Why Entertainment Co., Ltd. |

At Marché du Film, another 13 Hong Kong Companies presented their latest offerings at individual stands. They were: Bravos Pictures Ltd., Digital Magic Group, Distribution Workshop (HK) Limited, Easternlight Films, Emperor Motion Pictures, Filmko Films Distribution (HK) Ltd., Fortissimo Films, Golden Network Asia Ltd., Media Asia Film, Pegasus Motion Pictures Distribution Ltd., Star Alliance Movies (HK) Co., Ltd., Studio Strata and We Distribution Ltd. |
Once again, Hong Kong had its own business support centre at the International Village, and the networking sessions of "Dim Sum Hours" continued to be well received by the market participants. Such value-adding business exchange opportunities and networking experience among Hong Kong and International industry players were highly rated and appreciated.
The 12th HAF Successfully Completed
The 12th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) has concluded its three-day forum in late March 2014. Organised by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS) and running concurrently with the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART), the HAF is the of the most unique and well-established film-financing platforms in Asia. In the 12th edition, 780 private business meetings had been arranged for the 29 filmmaking teams including 25 HAF Projects and 4 HAF/Fox Chinese Film Development Award Finalists over the three-day period.
