FILMART 2013: OPENING UP NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

FILMART is just around the corner! This one-stop marketplace for international film, TV, media and digital entertainment is now well acknowledged by the industry as one of the world's top three film markets.

The 2013 edition will run from 18 to 21 March at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), welcoming nearly 700 exhibitors from about 30 countries & regions and nearly 6,000 visitors. Do mark your diary for this annual event!

Various renowned international multipliers are returning with their pavilions, namely, those from Chinese Mainland, France, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, USA, Mexico, Israel and Vietnam. There are also new pavilions representing exhibitors from Canada and Italy in the forthcoming market!

As always, FILMART 2013 continues to receive support from Chinese mainland exhibitors as their gateway to international markets. This year, we have the continued support from exhibitors such as China Film Promotion International (CFPI), the China International TV Corporation (CITVC), the Television Production Committee of China Radio and Television Association, as well as the Hangzhou government.

FILMART’s online visitor registration will be closed on 13 March 2013. If you have not registered yet, you can kindly make onsite registration during fair period at FILMART’s Buyer Registration Counter (Address: Hall 1 Concourse, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Harbour Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong). Thank you.

There will also be over 70 special events including seminars, press conferences, cocktail receptions, premieres, night parties, making FILMART a great occasion for industry networking to create new business opportunities.

TV WORLD 2013 OPENING CEREMONY &
INTERNATIONAL FORUM

Being one of the most important highlights in FILMART, the Opening Ceremony & International Forum of TV World 2013 will have renowned industry leaders sharing their insights on TV Programming and the synergy with New Media. The forum will probe into the global trends and essential TV WORLD
elements for novel TV programming and new media application. It will look at what TV industry players can benefit from learning how to produce unique TV programmes to retain its mainstream position in the world of diversifying entertainment options.

Asian films are on the rise with Chinese-language films taking centre stage. HAF – Focus on Hong Kong Talents

As the local film market has evolved in recent years, Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) is committed to promote local talents and strengthen the region’s world-renowned film industry. This year, HAF has selected 5 Hong Kong-based film projects that are excellent representation of Hong Kong’s new generation of filmmakers’ emerging and refreshing voices.

The five Hong Kong projects in 2013 HAF line-up are:
  • The Ceiling – by acclaimed independent filmmaker Philip YUNG, who won the 2011 HAF (Hong Kong) Award
  • King of Shrimp Roe Noodle – by comedy actor turned director LAM Tze-chung
  • When I Come to Me – by LAM Suk-ching whose short film, Acid, won the Short Film Competition Special Prize at the 36th HKIFF
  • Doomsday․Party – by director HO Hong. Industry veterans Teddy Robin KWAN and Roddy WONG will produce
  • Pseudo-Secular – by Rita HUI who won Best Director at the 2009 Singapore Asian Festival of First Films. Heiward MAK Hei-yan, writer of the box office hit Love in a Puff, will produce
