HONG KONG DAY IN AFM 2012

The American Film Market 2012 (AFM) in Los Angeles will be held between 31 October and 7 November, 2012. As in the past two years, while some of the major industry players from Hong Kong will join the market, HKTDC will launch the Hong Kong Day in AFM once again. Hong Kong Day will be officially kicked off with an Opening Ceremony by the management of AFM & HKTDC.

Highlights of Hong Kong Day include the HKTDC Seminar titled "Hong Kong: Your Ideal Co-production Partner and Gateway to the China Market" to be held on 1 November, followed by a Hong Kong Reception at Santa Monica Le Merigot Hotel, which facilitates networking and exploring of business opportunities among the international industry players. A promotion booth (5th Floor Atrium 10, Loews Hotel) is also set up at AFM to promote Hong Kong film industry to the attending international buyers.

While FILMART 2012 has proven to be another huge success with over 640 exhibitors and more than 5,700 visitors from 53 countries and regions, the next edition of FILMART, to be held from 18 to 21 March 2013 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, will surely be an even more comprehensive market. Other than the well-attended exhibition, other special events and seminars which encourage networking and exchange of market information will continue to be value-adding features in FILMART 2013.

HAF 2013 - Call for Submissions
Deadline Extended to 5th November 2012

In view of overwhelming response this year, the Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) has extended the deadline for project submissions to 5th November 2012. 25 to 30 projects will be selected to participate in HAF and will compete for cash awards of up to HK$500,000 (approximately US$64,100).
