HONG KONG PAVILION AT MARCHÉS DU FILM 2012
Organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) with the support of CreateHK, 11 Hong Kong companies exhibited in the largest ever Hong Kong Pavilion at Marche du Film, an important international film market held concurrently with the 65th edition of Festival de Cannes, from 16-25 May 2012.
In the Pavilion, All Rights Entertainment Ltd, Edko Films Ltd, Film Asia Entertainment Group Co Ltd, Gold Harbour International Films Ltd, Fortune Star Entertainment (HK) Ltd, Golden Scene Co Ltd, Mega-Vision Pictures Ltd, Star Alliance Movies (HK) Co Ltd, T-Films Ltd, Universe Films Distribution Co Ltd, and Why Entertainment Co Ltd showcased their latest film projects.
Other 11 Hong Kong companies also exhibited individually outside the Pavilion on promoting their project in the market. They were Asia Geographic Entertainment, Distribution Workshop, Emperor Motion Pictures, Easternlight Films, Fortissimo Films, Golden Network Asia Ltd, Media Asia Group, Mei Ah Entertainment Group Ltd, Pad International (Producers Alliance for Distribution), Pegasus Motion Pictures Distribution Ltd and We Distribution.
Once again, Hong Kong had its own business support centre at the International Village, and the networking sessions of "Dim Sum Hour" continued to be well received by the market participants. Such value-adding business exchange opportunities and networking experience among Hong Kong and International industry players were highly rated and appreciated.
FILMART 2012'S RECORD BREAKING SUCCESS
With its 16th year history, the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) this year set new attendance records, with over 640 exhibitors from 33 countries & regions and over 5,700 visitors from 53 countries & regions.
Being Asia's major entertainment industry market and one of the industry's premier trading platform, FILMART 2012 has once again completed in applauses and cheers after a 4-day market of fascinating exhibitions and countless special events including HAF. Thanks to all exhibitors and visitors who have made this year's FILMART another record-breaking success!
The next edition of FILMART is scheduled to be held on 18-21 March 2013 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Please stay tuned for latest news on our website.
GET SET for the 11th HAF !
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), Asia's premier project market that has helped film talents around the world realize their stories and go on to achieve both critical and box office success. The 10th HAF drew near 1,200 registered guests from around 40 countries and regions, a 15% increase from last year. Attending industry professionals hailed from China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, France, Canada and the USA among other places, while 663 private business meetings and press interviews were held between financiers, media representatives and filmmakers of the 32 projects. The total number of appointments rose 9%, with each project having around 21 meetings on average over the 3-day event.
