A survey conducted by an independent consultant, Oracle Added Value, has revealed that Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) and Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) provide the best platform in Asia to market the latest products and to get financing for film productions. An overwhelming majority described the twin events as the most significant events in Asia.

Over the years, FILMART has grown bigger and better, which is well reflected in its exhibitor and visitor numbers. FILMART 2010 has proven to be another record-breaking success with over 540 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions, attracting nearly 5,000 visitors from 51 countries and regions.
The next edition of FILMART will be held from 21 to 24 March 2011 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Please stay tuned for our latest news.

This year, approximately 1,000 guests from 34 countries and regions attended the three-day event from March 22-24, with 43% participants from China and 57% participants from other regions. The accreditation from China increased over 20% compared with 2009. Attending guests included film financiers, producers, buyers, distributors, representatives of film funds, production companies and equipment houses. 506 private business meetings were organized between financiers and filmmakers for the 25 selected film projects, a 10% increase over the past year. A total of 14 awards were presented at the glamorous 4th AFA ceremony. Three special awards were also presented and winners are ¡V Indian actor Amitahb BACHCHAN for the Lifetime Achievement Award, the internationally acclaimed director ZHANG Yimou for the Outstanding Contribution to Asian Cinema and knowned director John WOO for the 2009¡¦s Top-Grossing Film Director.

The 34th HKIFF hosted 298 films from 50 countries and regions, which included 24 World Premieres, 3 International Premieres and 38 Asian Premieres. The festival recorded an overwhelming response from audiences with 80,000 tickets sold representing 136 sold-out screenings, and the number of accredited press members increased by 28% from 22 countries - more than a 20% increase in country representation over the past year.
