With the support from the European Union MEDIA International, the first Asian Side of the Doc (ASD) will be held in Hong Kong from 22 to 25 March 2010 during FILMART 2010 to develop co-productions and long term cooperation between Asia Pacific and Europe in the field of Documentary and Cross-Media platforms. Film, TV, music and digital entertainment enjoyed a bright spotlight at the press conference for the 6^th Entertainment Expo Hong Kong held on 2 February 2010 in Hong Kong. Officiating guests include Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Gregory So; HKTDC Executive Director, Fred Lam; HKTDC Entertainment Industry Advisory Committee Chairman, Peter Lam; and Hong Kong Entertainment Ambassador, Tony Leung, along with top entertainment industry representatives, presided over the press conference.

Running from 22 March to 18 April this year, Entertainment Expo is the region’s leading entertainment industry event. It brings together nine events covering film, television, digital entertainment and music. Its three founding events are the Hong Kong International Film and Television Market (FILMART), the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) and the Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA) Presentation Ceremony. The Expo also features six core events: the Asian Film Awards (AFA); the Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF); the Hong Kong Music Fair (HKMF); the IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award (IFPI); the Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum (DELF); and the Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Awards (ifva).

The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS) announced the nominees of the fourth annual Asian Film Awards (AFA) at the press conference on 20^th January, 2010. The organizer is honoured to have internationally renowned actor Mr. Tony LEUNG Ka-fai as the Jury President, who will select and vote for the award winners with 13 other film professionals from around the world.
