FILMART & HAF GEAR UP FOR 2010

"Asian Side of the Doc" (ASD) sponsored by the European Union (Media International), will have its inaugural launch at upcoming FILMART 2010. ASD is based on the success model of the major international TV documentaries marketplace in France - "Sunny Side of the Doc" (SSD). The 20th anniversary of SSD in 2009 attracted over 1800 participants, including 289 international decision makers and 443 exhibiting companies from 50 countries. ASD is their first Asian version of SSD. With SSD's long history in Europe and its reputable industry status, it is expected ASD would be able to attract over 150 senior executives in the TV, film and new media fields from Europe, America and Asia to come to HK for its 3-day comprehensive programme, including workshops, screenings, pitching sessions and networking events. HAF Projects Achievements
Congratulations to HAF projects which once again being recognized in international film festivals! "BAK-JWI" (aka Thirst) by PARK Chan-wook has won Best Music Award (CHO Young-wook) and Best Supporting Actress Award (KIM Hae-sook) in the 30th Blue Dragon Awards in Korea. "City of Life and Death" by LU Chuan has won the Achievement in Directing (LU Chuan) and Cinematography (CAO Yu) in the 3rd Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia as well as the Best Cinematography (CAO Yu) in the 46th Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan. "At the End of Daybreak" by HO Yuhang has won the Best Supporting Actress Award (WAI Ying-hung) in the 46th Golden Horse Awards. Last but not least, "Mother" by BONG Joon-ho has won the Best Film Awards, Best Lighting Awards (CHOI Chuk-su, BAK Dong-su) and the Best Supporting Actor Awards (JIN Gu) in the 30th Blue Dragon Awards. It also won the Best Performance by an Actress Award (KIM Hye-ja) in the 3rd Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

A NEW DIMENSION TO CHINA

In partnership with CineAsia 2009, the 8th HAF and the Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association (MPIA) proudly present: "A New Dimension to China", was being held successfully on Dec 8, 2009. It provided the most up-to-date market analysis in film-financing, marketing and distribution into the China market, key industry players shared the latest development in digitalization and 3D technology in the fastest growing market in the world. Over 180 industrial players had been participating in this event, of which included local, Mainland Chinese and overseas participants.
