Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will again organise the Hong Kong Pavilion at the upcoming Marché du Film from 17-26 May 2017, concurrently with the 70th edition of Festival de Cannes. Marché du Film is an important international film market for the Hong Kong film and entertainment industry players to exhibit their outstanding projects.

Hong Kong will have its own business centre set up at the International Village from 17-28 May 2017. Free communication tools and meeting areas will be available for participants from Hong Kong, accompanied overseas guests and Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) filmmakers.

The 15th HAF Comes to Dazzling Close

The 15th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum concluded with the Awards Presentation Ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 15 March 2017. Over the past three days, HAF attracted leading film financers, producers, distributors and buyers across the world, connecting them with talented filmmakers through business meetings and seminar, pitching and networking events.

This year’s line-up comprised 25 HAF projects chosen from over 350 submissions, together with 8 projects which are nearing completion, shortlisted from over 120 submissions for the newly-launched Work-in-Progress Lab (WIP Lab) program. The WIP Lab aims to facilitate projects in the later stage of production to secure post-production funds, sales agents or film festival support.

The 15th HAF Awards presented a total of 14 awards, amounting to approximately HK$1,588,000 (equivalent to approximately US$204,600) in cash and value in-kind. 4 WIP Lab projects shortlisted for the “Hong Kong Goes to Cannes” program - a collaboration with Marché du Film, Festival de Cannes were also announced.
