Making the Cut at Asia’s Premier Film Market

Congratulations! FILMART’s Screening Website has been honoured Outstanding Website at the “Internet Advertising Competition Award 2016” (IAC 2016) organised by the US-based Web Marketing Association. IAC is an annual competition to recognise the best in internet marketing among various industries.

Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will again organise the Hong Kong Pavilion at the upcoming Marché du Film from 11-20 May 2016, concurrently with the 69th edition of Festival de Cannes. Marché du Film is an important international film market for the Hong Kong film and entertainment industry players to exhibit their outstanding projects.

Hong Kong will have its own business support centre set up at the International Village from 11-22 May 2016. Free communication tools and meeting areas will be available for participants from Hong Kong, accompanied overseas guests and Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) filmmakers.

The 14th HAF Concluded with Success

The 14th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum came to the end with the 14th HAF Awards Presentation Ceremony held at the HKCEC on 16 March 2016. Over the past three days many were impressed by the energy of Asian filmmaking and its great potential for growth. HAF would like to extend the warmest welcome to the honorable guests, HAF sponsors, supporters and partners, HAF participants and media friends. For the 14th consecutive year, people from the film industry gather here to connect with the talented filmmakers from around Asia, and together help turning a project on paper into a movie on screen.

The 14th HAF awards were selected from 31 project finalists, chosen from 350 submissions from 43 different countries and regions. The selection comprised 26 feature film projects and 5 documentary projects. The 14th HAF Awards presented a total of 14 awards, amounting to approximately HK$1,478,500 (equivalent to approximately US$190,800) in cash and value in-kind.

Fushan Documentary Award: Border Bride by WANG Bing (Hong Kong, China)
Wouter Barendrecht Award: Inking a Last Masterpiece by UCHIJIMA Usuke (Japan)
Artention Film Award: Dying to Survive by WEN Muye (China)
Paris Coproduction Village Award: When the Waves are Gone by Lav DIAZ (Philippines)
Network of Asian Fantastic Films Award: Hypnotize the Jury by Paul SZE Pak-lam & Kenneth LAI Siu-kwan (Hong Kong)
Wutianming Post Production Award: Lhamo and Skalbe by Sonthar Gyal (China)
White Light Post-Production Award: The Third Wife by NGUYEN Phuong Anh (Vietnam)
G2D Post Production Award: Border Bride by WANG Bing (Hong Kong, China)
