USITC Schedules Sunset Review of AD Order on Potassium Permanganate and Petroleum Wax Candles from China. The USITC has scheduled separate sunset reviews of the outstanding AD orders on potassium permanganate and petroleum wax candles from China. The reviews will seek to determine whether the revocation of these orders would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. The USITC received an inadequate response from the respondents in the potassium permanganate case and will therefore conduct an expedited sunset review with respect to imports of this merchandise from China. A USITC staff report on the subject matter will be placed in the non-public record on 31 January and a public version will be issued sometime thereafter. Interested parties that are parties to the review may submit comments by 3 February.

The USITC will conduct a full review of the AD order on petroleum wax candles. The pre-hearing USITC staff report will be placed in the non-public record on 4 May and a hearing will take place on 24 May. Requests to appear at the hearing must be filed on or before 16 May. The deadline for filing pre-hearing briefs in this case is 13 May.

USITC Re-schedules Vote on Sunset Review of AD Order on Sebacic Acid from China. The USITC has announced its intention to re-schedule the vote on the sunset review concerning imports of sebacic acid from China from 26 January to a yet-to-be-determined date in late April. In the meantime, the USITC will re-open the record in this investigation to allow for comments on the results of a changed circumstances review being conducted by the DOC on merchandise exported by Tianjin Chemicals Import and Export Corporation and produced by Hengshui Dongfeng Chemical Co., Ltd (Tianjin/Hengshui). Tianjin/Hengshui had been previously excluded from the AD but the DOC preliminarily determined on 26 November 2004 that these two companies had resumed dumping in the US. A final determination is expected by 28 March.
