Business Alert - China

|
Starting 8 October 2003, sedan cars holding Hong Kong and Guangdong vehicle licences with permits to use the Man Kam To and Sha Tau Kok control points may use the Huanggang control point during the early hours. Under existing rules, these sedan cars can only use the Man Kam To and Sha Tau Kok control points during their opening hours from 7 am to 10 pm. But starting 8 October, sedan cars and other official and business vehicles with permits to use these two control points may cross the land boundary to Shenzhen at Huanggang from midnight to 6:30 am. However, they are required to use Man Kam To and Sha Tau Kok at other times of the day. The new arrangement will provide greater convenience to people commuting by car across the boundary on official business as well as foreign-invested enterprises operating on the mainland.
