Zhongshan Simplifies Visa Application for Taiwanese Residents
The Zhongshan municipal authorities have recently simplified the procedures for the issuance of business and work visas for Taiwanese residents. These measures include: handling multiple-entry visa and work visa applications separately thereby streamlining the procedure; extending the validity of multiple-entry visa to three years (for ordinary residents) and five years (for legal representatives, shareholders, chairmen and vice chairmen of enterprises, and their family members); and shortening the application processing time. Entry-exit administrations may, based on actual circumstances, proceed to process an application while the applicant is undergoing the required medical check-up. However, the applicant must present the medical report when collecting the visa. By so doing, processing time can be reduced from seven to three working days. Urgent requests with valid reasons will be entertained and completed within one working day. Besides, the number of hospitals designated for medical check-up has been increased to three, all of which are Grade A (namely Municipal People¡¦s Hospital, Chinese Medicine Hospital and Bo Ai Hospital).
